Criminal court records widely vary, and include everything from appeals to sentencing documents. In Oakland County, criminal court records are managed by the Clerks office and can also be accessed at the https://courtexplorer.oakgov.com/OaklandCounty portal. From here, you can view circuit court cases (which include criminal cases) and probate cases.

Probate cases can only be searched using the specific case number. If you don’t have the number, you can use the case number searcher for probate cases at https://micourt.courts.michigan.gov/case-search/court/P63. This site includes access to Civil, Traffic, Criminal, Domestic (Divorce/Family), and Probate cases that DON’T include Adoption, Delayed Registration of Foreign Birth, Judicial Admissions, Juvenile and Child Protective Proceedings, Juvenile Guardianships, Mental Illness, Name Changes, Parental Waivers, Personal Protection Orders, Surrendered New Born Child, Treatment of Infectious Disease, Violation of Personal Protection Orders, Extreme Risk Protection Orders, Young Adult Voluntary Foster Care and Wills.

If you want access to more criminal case records, including personal protection cases, violations of PPO, and felonies, use the main court explorer site. Select specific types of cases using the advance search button and then view the “Case Type Description” options. Input this abbreviation, business or person’s name, or case number to refine your search for court records.
